Some SJFF Thoughts

Sadly I don't have a personal recommendations ahead of this year's SJFF film festival. Unless I've missed something I've seen three films - all interesting in their own way. In no particular order - and linking their title to my original blog notes are:
  • Strangers - there are definitely divergent opinions. But I totally dug this film. It was either really good or really suited my mood when I saw it.
  • Stalags - Worth seeing for it's differentness.
  • Fugititive Pieces - I didn't remember thinking super hugely of it - but my thoughts at the time seem to be more positive.
There seems to be a decent selection of things to try. Three things that caught my eye - though I may read some reviews before committing are.
  • Lemon Tree
  • Circumcise Me! - billing the main subject as "Israel's funniest Hasidic comedian" - it might be worth the price of admission to see if there's a second comedian in the running for that honor.
  • Flipping Out - and not just because it's the first SJFF film I can think of with the publicity photo is a guy smoking a bong.
Still going through the list. I'm not going with a pass for this one - so not sure how many I'll really get to. Thankfully none of the three above I'm considering are in MOHAI.
