One to catch and one not to rush to

Sort of a mixed bag to end the day. I'll try to circle back for a more complete writeup. But just in case I don't catch up before the next screening...

If you haven't seen it already you'd be well served to try to catch the monday screening of Boy A. I've heard some describe it as their favorite of the festival. I still think I'd put Edge of Heaven above it, but Boy A is still pretty darn good.

Less good is Transsiberian. It's one of the better movies I saw today - but the bar on that is fairly low. I think I'm going to have to institute a Woody Harrelson rule for future festival choices - meaning be very, very wary of anything he's in.
Finally - on a helpful note be sure to checkout this recent post from fellow SIFF blogger The Voice of Reason on Film. She's seen a bunch of stuff playing at SIFF this year and has some quick yes/no votes for your benefit. If only I'd read this post earlier in the day I could have made some better choices. Ah well - the highs and lows of random choices is part of the festival fun... :-)
